Eliminate the fear factor
If starting up a new workout routine seems overwhelming or a little scary, keep in mind that exercise doesn't have to be overly rigorous to help protect your heart and help you lose weight.
Lower-intensity activities including brisk walking, dancing, yard work and climbing stairs also have long-term health benefits.
Experts recommend at least 30 minutes of exercise every day—but it doesn't have to be all at once! You can break up your workout into several manageable 'chunks' to get the same benefits. If you're not a morning person, consider taking a 15-minute walk at lunch and after work.
