If you do not have insurance, or if the drug being purchased is not covered by insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid, your discount card can always be used to obtain the maximum discount and savings.
Q. If I already have insurance with prescription drug coverage, can I still use the discount program card?
A. If you have insurance you should make it a point to register the discount program card with your pharmacy. In many instances, our discounts will produce a price that is lower than your co-pay. With both your insurance and our discount program information in the pharmacy system, you will be assured that you will pay the lowest amount for your prescription. Our discount program is not designed to add discounts to discounts you are already receiving from your current provider, nor is it designed to reduce your co-pay. Please keep in mind that many insurance programs do not cover a long list of drugs for which our discount program provides discounts for. Again, if you have health coverage of any kind, we suggest you contact your plan administrator to get the specifics, because not all plans are the same.
Q. Does using this program count toward my insurance deductible?
A. If you have health insurance you more than likely have a deductible. The purchases you make using our discount program will in some instances count toward your deductible. Of course, we suggest you contact your insurance carrier or plan coordinator to obtain specifics as not all insurance plans are the same.
Q. If I have HSA or HRA plan, can I still utilize the discount program?
A. YES! If you have a deductible, using our discount program will most likely count toward your deductible (only the actual dollars spent will go towards the deductible. Of course, we suggest you contact your plan administrator or coordinator to obtain specifics, as not all plans are the same.
Q. Important Note for Medicare users
A. Although this discount can be used as a Medicare Part D supplement by covering drugs once participants reach the "donut hole," drugs purchased with this discount program will not count toward your Medicare deductible and therefore will not allow you to exceed your deductible and get out of the "donut hole."
Q. What is the difference between a brand name drug and a generic drug?
A. Brand name drugs are those that are patented and only manufactured by one company. Generic drugs are those that are manufactured by other companies once the original drug patent expires. The FDA finds generic drugs to be as safe as brand name drugs and they also tend to be less expensive.
