  • Let yourself be you! “You don’t have to be a superhero. If you were perfect, nobody would like you! Learn how to say, I need…I want… I can’t…”

  • Join an online support group. “I’ve found this to be the perfect answer—I choose when I want to communicate with other people going through similar circumstances and am not tied to a certain date and time.”

  • Do things that make you feel alive. “When you are feeling up to it, sing karaoke, make a sand castle, dance the cha-cha.”

  • Dream and plan for your future. “Many times, while hooked up to an IV, I would jot down ideas for places I wanted to go and things I wanted to do. The list keeps growing!”
