What about the problem of lingering fatigue?
January 2008
Q. What about the problem of lingering fatigue?
A. Often people think that once they finish their radiation and chemotherapy, in a couple of weeks they’ll have all this energy back. And most patients won’t. For some—for example, lymphoma patients—fatigue may last a couple of years. One of the most important things for survivors to ask is how long to expect the fatigue to persist. Also, what kinds of things might be helpful in a practical way, and how they can organize their routine to accommodate their fatigue.
