Q. How does a survivor’s relationship with his or her primary care doctor change?
A. Make sure that your doctor knows that you have been treated for cancer and what the treatment consisted of. That way, if you come in with a symptom, the doctor may be able to relate it to the cancer treatment, even years down the road. It’s also very important to let your primary care doctor know who the treating oncologist was so they can communicate when necessary.
